Role of Media in Restoring Pakistan’s Image

There was time when wars have won on the battle field but as human civilization evolves things have changed as well; now social, political, and economical grounds are very crucial. But now one doesn’t needs to fight at all because on top Media drives all, it could prove truth as lie or vice versa and that’s what it is happening with Pakistan.

Pakistan is probably going from its toughest phase in the history, foreign insurgence in northern areas and war against terrorism were already causing problems for us, and the recent Indian allegations will not make the things better. UN had already banned few organizations in Pakistan (on Indian request), now Security Council is thinking of more.

I think Media has to play the major role in order to restore our image internationally; we are a good nation who condemns terrorism in any form. There might be some groups who are doing wrong things but it doesn’t mean they represent the whole nation.

If I go back to Indian allegations, Everyone knows the involvement in Indian Army in Samjhota Express Bombing (zee news), Killing of investigation officer in Mumbai attacks (Hemant Karkare) or the evidence of Marathi guy involved in Mumbai attacks but these facts where hidden behind the strong propaganda and campaign of Indian media. And I will agree with Zaid Hamid that the main advantage that India media have is that that they have a penetration in west hence they can portray whatever they want to. Have a look at Zaid Hamid response to Bharat Varma for more details.

I am not defending any terrorist organization or activity nor I am talking about a particular religion; terrorism has no religion and no country and it’s a threat for everyone. But we need to know what terrorism is and who is causing it.

It’s a time for us to step forward and reveal the truth and restore the image of what we actually are.

Look forward to have suggestions and more view points.

Dear Nasir,

Well written!

I believe that this phase will be soon over and Pakistan will emerge as a best welfare state in next five decades to a century.

The current regime has shown how much ineffective they are and how irrelevent to them is this country. They'll go on doing all what their American masters tell them because only want to be in power as long as they can to continue their looting spree.

All that we need is a few more elections which will result in filteration of such corrupt politicians (recall what happend the King's Q league). We shall not die my dear without seeing this country enroute to enviable glory.
